Chicago police arrested “dismembered toddler case” suspect !!

Chicago police have arrested the main suspects on Monday, in the death of a toddler whose remains had been found in a lagoon nearby the city's Near West Side a year back.

The 2 years old boy, Kyrian Knox, had last been seen in August 2015 when, Lanisha Knox his mother, left him in the care of Kamel Harris a family friend, in Rockford, Illinois.

At that time, the baby's mother had been moving from Iowa to Chicago and entrusted Harris with Kyrian according to the police. Harris, 41years old, had been taken into police custody on Monday.

Harris reported that the boy had been missing from September 2015, nearly two weeks after a dismembered body of a boy had been discovered in Garfield Park Lagoon. Authorities suspected that Kyrian had been missing about a month before it was informed.

Kevin Duffin, Chicago Police Commander said in a news conference on Tuesday, "He made a false report to the Rockford police that the baby had gone missing”. Police said that Harris had been requested by the legal council and was not given any statement.

Chicago Police executed a search warrant and took his vehicle last in November.

"The major break in the case being the fact that he had denied about the baby who had ever been inside his vehicle," Duffin added, “once we took the vehicle with the search warrant, [we] tore out the carpeting and recovered the baby's blood in the vehicle."
