Chicago Fired The Chief Of Airport Security

After the violent removal of a passenger from the United Airlines flight earlier in this month, the head of security at the Chicago's airports has officially been fired. According to The Associated Press report, Jeffrey Redding was the head of security at the O'Hare International Airport and Chicago Midway International Airport, but the Department of Aviation announced on Thursday that he had been “terminated from his duties.”

The Department of Aviation had not provided any official reason for the termination, and Redding was not immediately available for the comment.

Prior to the decision to relieve Redding from his duties, Redding was overseeing the investigation into the removal of 69-year-old David Dao from a flight on 9th April by the airport security officers. Dao recently reached a settlement with the United, that the lawyers said will avoid any lawsuits being filed against the airline.

In an another report from the Chicago Tribune, it was found that Redding had been fired from his previous job at the Illinois Tollway due to the sexual harassment allegations in the year 2015.

The city of Chicago said that it was unaware of those allegations, and sources told to the newspaper that his failure to disclose the information about the allegations reportedly led to his termination.
